The school year is now finished, so i can stop my blog, it's a good new!
the table tennis season is nearly finished too, there are 2 matches left against Saint-Pair (1) team and ASPTT Caen team!
Now we still are 2nd of the group, but we lost one match against Argentan team, so we are sure to continue de play in Regional 1 division but no in "Pres National".
Peharps, it's for next year!

Patrick Chila

Arms raised after 6 sets of brawl. With the exit of the finale, Patrick Chila happy and was relieved to carry it vis-a-vis with surprised of this championship.

Whatever name it assumes, table tennis has come a long way since its introduction as a genteel, after-dinner alternative to lawn tennis in 1890s England. Today, players compete for big money, wield high-tech rackets and volley the ball at speeds up to 160 kilometres per hour. Table tennis has become the world's largest participation sport, with 40 million competitive players worldwide and countless millions playing recreationally.The game, which debuted in the Olympic Games in 1988 at Seoul, began with cigar-box lids for rackets and a carved champagne cork for a ball. Today, players use specially developed rubber-coated wooden and carbon-fibre rackets and a lightweight, hollow celluloid ball. Various rubber compounds and glues are applied on the rackets to impart greater spin or speed.Indeed, some glues are banned from Olympic competition - they make the ball travel up to 30km/h faster.

Table tennis

I'm going to give you a little definition about table tennis:

Table tennis is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight, hollow ball back and forth to each other with racquets/bats.
The game takes place on a hard table divided by a net. Players must allow a ball played towards them only one bounce on their side of the table and must return it so that it bounces on the opponents' side.
If the ball doesn't land on the opponent side, it is a "dead ball", unless the receiving player has hit the ball before it has clearly passed the end line of the table. Play is fast and demands quick reactions. A skilled player can impart spin to the ball, which makes its bounce and reaction on the opponent paddle or racket difficult to predict or return with confidence.


Table tennis evolved in England and the United States. It is among the most popular sports in the world in terms of player numbers, as well as one of the newest of the major sports. The game is controlled by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), founded in 1926.

Olympic Games and table tennis

The participation in the Olympic Games is subjected to rules particular to the table tennis.
The 20 best players in the world are qualified directly (but only 3 maximum by country). After places are offered to gaining continental tournaments of qualification (in Europe the tournoi will take place in Nantes on april).

The principle, inspired by the cut Davis de Tennis consists in disputing 5 matches of which one double with three candidates different per nation. The team having gained three matches is declared victorious.

16 teams will take part in this test.

Great beggining!

The 2nde phase began on 12th January and we won against Cabourg team on the score of 10 to 6 but in the Cabourg team, the players were only 3 of 4 so we won by "tapis vert".
The 2nde match was agains Cherbourg, at Cherboug and we did a null match, so we score was 9 to 9.
The 3rd match was one week ago and it was against Caen TTC. The Caen TTC players were 2nde ex aequo with us! We did again null match so we are again 2nde!
It's the 1st that we are on the top of the classement after 3 matches!
There are 4 matches left against Saint-Pair(2), Argentan (the 1st), Saint-Paire(1) and ASPTT Caen!
